Rabies is a virus that attacks the central nervous system. It is usually contracted through a wound (bite, scratch, etc.) Symptoms include behavioral changes, anxiety, hallucinations, excessive drooling, and paralysis. Treatment within several hours of contraction is essential, otherwise the disease is nearly always fatal.
